Public Background Checks is simple to use and gives comprehensive reports, though their databases aren’t quite as extensive as some of the other services we tried. The reports from Public Background Checks can include names, associated names and aliases, current and previous addresses, phone numbers, age and date of birth. We liked the interface where the results are displayed because you can see what types of information are available for each contact before you buy the reports. In addition to buying all the results for a single search, Public Background Checks has 24-hour passes and 30-day passes for people who need to do several searches.
Public Background Checks isn’t perfect though. The search interface, while simple, doesn’t allow you to include other information besides name and state. It is possible to do reverse address and reverse phone searches, but there is no option to search by age, social security number or email address like you can with some of our top-ranked companies. We were also disappointed that Public Background Checks didn’t have a phone support line or an online chat option for questions and problems. However, there is an email support option and Public Background Checks does have a FAQ, though it is buried deep in the site and isn’t very extensive.
