PrivateEye received the number six slot in our review of people search services. This is not to say that the services isn’t useful. PrivateEye actually has a very extensive report that can include information like current and past addresses, phone numbers, possible aliases, possible relatives and date of birth. We even found that some of the results had information about possible places of employment, which could be very useful when trying to find someone. PrivateEye also has 24-hour and 30-day passes for large batches of people searches.
But PrivateEye also suffers from a few deficiencies. There search interface can only take information about name, city and phone number. Usually people are trying to find out an address and phone number, making these features useful only in certain situations. We would have liked to see PrivateEye include the ability to add an age range to the search. Another problem with the service is the support. There is email support, but the link is hard to find.
While PrivateEye has very extensive reports, it’s not perfect. Problems like these keep it from rising above other services that provide a few more options.
